Early Life
Seth Chaju Ram Lamba was born in an Jat family of Alakhpura, Bhiwani, Haryana. His father Chaudhary Salig Ram Lamba was a ordinary farmer. Chhaju Ram’s family origin locates back to Sikar, Rajasthan as they migrated to Alakhpura, Bhiwani. He went to Primary school in neighboring village Bawani Khera then after his keen interest in education which helped him to secure good marks and got scholarship in fifth standard which helped him to get admission in Middle School in Bhiwani. After this Chhaju Ram went to Government High School, Rewari for his matriculation and completed it in the year 1882. While studying in Rewari he worked part-time as tutor and taught to son of Railway master which he received Rs.6 per month. At this moment he realized the importance of Job and left for Calcutta (Kolkata) in search of better job and career opportunities.
Chaudhary Chaju Ram Lamba was married twice , as his first wife passed away due to an acute diarrhoeal disease Cholera. She was from Dohaka village of Badhra tehsil of Charkhi Dadri district (then Bhiwani District). Later he married to Lakshmi Devi of village Bilawal, Charkhi Dadri and had 8 children with her ( 5 son, 3 daughter).

Seth Chajuram was great person , my grandfather used to tell me about him and his works for the society. We have picture frames of Chaju Ram ji and Chotu Ram ji at our home and we always pray to them as gods.
