Chaudhary Chhotu Ram

Chaudhary Chhotu Ram was well known prominent politicans of pre-independence India. He was born on 24 November 1881 in Garhi Sampla, Rohtak. He got the name Chotu Ram as he was the youngest of his brothers. Chaudhary Chhotu Ram played an important role in India’s independence and he also championed the rights for peasants and farmers. He was then popularly came to known as “Deen Bandhu”. He is called as father of Bakhra-Nangal Dam.

Chaudhary Chhotu Ram’s Early Life

Chaudhary Chhotu Ram also known as “Sir Chhotu Ram” or “Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram” was an great leader and played important role for India’s Independence and rights for peasants and famers. He was born in an small village in Rohtak district of United Punjab now in Haryana. After studying in Jhajjar for some years he moved to Delhi where he completed his schooling and graduation. Then for further education he moved to Agra to study Law.
